Also new in the Z woods family are the Z 585 driver a non-adjustable model with the same distance-inducing technologies as the Z 785 as well as Z F85 fairways and Z H85 hybrids.
As is the case with the drivers the TS2 fairway features a fixed CG location that’s low and deep for high launching mid-spin shots while the TS3’s CG can be customized via Titleist’s SureFit CG technology. In general the TS3 will produce a slightly lower trajectory than the TS2 and offers more shot shaping versatility.
The JPX 919 Forged is available in 4-GW in both right and left hand options with a wide variety of premium no-upcharge shafts and grips.
As one would expect from a Mizuno blade the 919 Tour features a Grain Flow Forged HD (high density) construction from1025 Elite carbon steel for the soft responsive feel aficionados demand.
Comfort is maximized through the use of Puma’s proprietary Ignite foam in the midsole a design that also provides energy return with each step as well as plenty of stability during the swing.
A versatile iron that can fit a wide variety of players from pros to better weekend warriors the 919 Forged fits snugly between the Tour and Hot Metal models. Built with the same Grain Flow Forged HD method as the Tour the Forged is made from Boron infused steel which is approximately 30% stronger than carbon steel.
Other features include a low compression core for excellent feel and low-spin distance on long shots and a 338 speed dimple pattern for less drag improved launch and solid performance in windy conditions. Less sidespin for straighter shots is an additional benefit a wide variety of players will appreciate.
The new Z 785 is also more forgiving than the past model due to a lightweight carbon crown that allows for a lower and deeper CG location. Customized adjustability is provided by Srixon’s Quick Tune system that allows for fast loft lie and face angle adjustment as well as swing weight alterations via a choice of interchangeable weights (4g 6g 8g 10g 12g).
There are differences however including most notably more adjustability in the form of Titleist’s SureFit CG technology that allows for more specific spin rate and launch angle tuning. The TS3 also features a more traditional pear shape and tends to produce more of a mid-launch as compared to the TS2’s higher launch.
Now Mizuno is launching a newly revamped JPX 919 line with a traditional look and impressive technologies that make the three new models worth a serious look for players of all handicap levels.
Featuring the same Ti51AF Cup Face and lightweight carbon crown as the Z 785 the friendlier model comes standard with a Project X HARDUS Red shaft with an active tip section for higher trajectory shots for a wider variety of players.
The new TS2 features several design elements that contribute to making it significantly longer than the previous 917 D2 including an extremely thin titanium crown that’s approximately 20% thinner.
